Toros complete sweep against Licey

LA ROMANA. A dominant pitching performance by Justin Courtney and the power of Bryan De La Cruz led the 4-2 victory of the Toros del Este over the Tigres del Licey, securing the sweep in the double header held this Friday at the Francisco A. Micheli Stadium. The Tigers, for their part, fell to fifth place (9-14) and suffered their third consecutive loss. Courtney (1-0, 0.00) was the figure of the match after pitching five scoreless innings, allowing only two hits, one walk and striking out four rivals. The setback went to the blue starter Nico Tellache (1-2, 3.94), punished with three runs in 3.2 innings. The bullpen was key throughout the double-header, limiting Licey to 3 hits in 14 at-bats with runners in scoring position.
