TRAE reinforces school transport in the South region with 70 new appointments

Azua, R.D. – The National Student Transportation System (TRAE) took a new step in the strengthening of school transportation in the Southern region, by delivering certificates and formalizing 70 new appointments for operational personnel in several provinces of the country. The activity was led by the CEO of TRAE, Luis Felipe Cartagena, who highlighted the importance of continuing to expand and improve this service that directly impacts thousands of students and their families. The new appointments correspond to drivers, assistants, and washers who will provide service in the educational regions 01 of Barahona, 02 of San Juan, 03 of Azua, and 18 of Bahoruco. Of that total, 14 were assigned to Regional 03 of Azua. Prior to the official act, Cartagena held a strategic meeting with the regional director of Education 03, Jorge Antonio De los Santos, and the directors of the five educational districts of Azua, where actions were evaluated to optimize the coverage, efficiency, and quality of student transportation.

Also present at the ceremony were the provincial governor, Minerva Navarro; the regional coordinator, Joseph Benzant; and the director of the Villarpando District Board, Heriberto Sención, along with other educational authorities and community representatives. The expansion of the TRAE program is part of the Government’s efforts to ensure that students arrive safely and free of charge to educational centers, reducing family costs and strengthening school permanence.
