RD Vial reinforces lighting on roads in the Southern region with the installation of solar lamps
Santo Domingo. – As part of the National Road Lighting Plan, the RD Vial Trust continues to strengthen safety and visibility on the main roads of the southern region of the country, by installing LED solar lamps in strategic corridors that have historically presented lighting deficiencies and higher levels of risk for drivers.
On the November 6th highway, the lighting works are progressing in their different sections. In Section I, from the Abanico de Herrera Bridge to Najayo, a total of 12 kilometers will be intervened, six in both directions, reinforcing visibility and safety in one of the most important accesses to the south of the country.
In addition, work continues on Section II, where a total of 14 kilometers will be illuminated, seven in both directions, with the estimated installation of 350 solar LED lamps, directly impacting night traffic in this high-traffic corridor.
Overall, the interventions on the 6 de Noviembre highway cover 26 illuminated kilometers and include the installation of approximately 680 solar LED lamps, directly contributing to risk reduction, accident prevention, and safer mobility for users of this road.
Also, as part of the national road lighting plan, the RD Vial Trust will be intervening the Baní Ring Road, a recently inaugurated infrastructure of high strategic value for the Southern region, where the installation of around 360 LED solar lamps along 13 kilometers is planned.
Maintaining this road properly illuminated is essential to preserve the safety levels achieved after its commissioning, improve night visibility, reduce accident risks, and ensure efficient traffic flow for both freight transport and the daily commutes of citizens. The permanent lighting of this bypass responds to a preventive vision, aimed at protecting public investment and ensuring that the infrastructure continues to fulfill its function of regional development and connectivity.
In total, the interventions in execution and scheduled in the South region comprise more than 39 kilometers of illuminated roads and the installation of more than 1,000 solar LED lamps, reaffirming RD Vial’s commitment to sustainable, efficient, and low-environmental-impact solutions, which contribute to safer and more orderly mobility for all Dominicans.
