Washington.- U.S. President Donald Trump hopes that Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, will donate SpaceX shares to the so-called ‘Trump Accounts’ set up so that parents can start a financial investment for their children, the benefits of which they will be able to withdraw themselves with tax advantages when they reach the age of majority.
“I think he will“, said Trump when asked about whether the Tesla owner will make a contribution to the accounts promoted by his administration in an interview with CNBC from the Oval Office.
The U.S. Department of the Treasury said today that companies can donate publicly traded stocks to the new investment accounts for children, known as ‘Trump Accounts‘ which are scheduled to launch next Saturday, U.S. Independence Day.
Around 1.4 million such accounts will be eligible for a $1,000 federal seed capital, intended for children born between 2025 and 2028.

Trump highlighted the contribution pledged by billionaires Michael and Susan Dell to provide $6.25 billion to offer 25 million American children aged 10 or younger an incentive to open one of the child investment accounts.
