Trump says a new type of weapon was used in the operation to capture Maduro

Plans to attack Latin American cartels

In the interview with The New York Post, Trump also mentioned again the possibility of carrying out “ground attacks” on Latin American cartels. When asked if those attacks could occur in Mexican, Venezuelan or Colombian territory, the president replied: “it could be anywhere”. Trump has insisted several times that Washington is considering attacking the narco in Mexican territory and that he has raised that possibility with the government of President Claudia Sheinbaum, who has rejected the offer, arguing the country’s sovereignty and advocating for a peaceful solution.

Oil Agreement Between Washington and Caracas

The Republican also commented in the interview on the operations to sell up to 50 million barrels of Venezuelan crude oil agreed with Caracas and the plans to revive Venezuelan oil production with the entry of foreign companies and an investment that Trump himself puts at 100 billion dollars.
