Washington.- U.S. President Donald Trump will offer his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, a welcome ceremony and a state dinner at the White House next week, during the Asian leader’s official visit to Washington, the U.S. government announced this Friday.
Xi’s three-day visit will begin on Wednesday, September 23, with his arrival at Andrews Air Force Base, outside of Washington, where he will be welcomed by Trump.
He will be the first foreign leader whom the Republican will personally receive at the foot of the plane since his return to the Presidency.
The main day will be Thursday the 24th, when Trump and the first lady, Melania Trump, will receive Xi and his wife, Peng Liyuan, at the White House.
The program includes a welcome ceremony, a military review, and a private meeting between both leaders.

In the evening, the Trumps will host the Chinese delegation for a State dinner in the East Room of the White House, one of the highest protocol honors offered by the U.S. Presidency.
The trip will conclude on Friday the 25th with a joint visit by both leaders to the United States National Archives, which house the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, to commemorate 250 years of United States independence.
It will be the second meeting this year between the leaders of the world’s two greatest powers, following the meeting they held in May in Beijing, where Trump was received with high honors.
