At least six people died in a Russian missile attack carried out in broad daylight this Friday against the Kyiv region, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on his X account. And another five lost their lives in Slovyansk.
Zelensky also said, without giving further details about the location of the attack or the nature of the target, that the bombing caused dozens of injuries.
The owner of the private Ukrainian drone manufacturer First Contact, Valeri Borovik, stated live on a broadcast by the media outlet Apostrof that Russia had hit an arms exhibition in this attack carried out late Friday morning.
The Ukrainian Defense Manufacturers Council has confirmed that representatives of the industry were gathered at the attacked site
Both Borovik and the Arms Manufacturers Council have indicated that there are dead and wounded in the attack.

Zelensky reported that “a rescue operation is currently underway in the Kiev region” following a Russian missile attack and stated that, preliminarily, “dozens of people injured” and six dead were reported. “My condolences to their families and loved ones,” he added when referring to the victims.
Zelensky further stated that the response teams’ tasks remain active to clarify what happened. “Efforts to determine exactly what happened and the fate of those affected are ongoing. All necessary emergency services are on the scene,” he affirmed.
According to the leader, the attacks hit civilian infrastructure and vehicles. “The Russians damaged ordinary homes, the consulate building, and vehicles,” he detailed.

Zelensky described the events as aggression directed against the population. “These were brutal attacks against civilians, and the Russians must be held accountable for them,” he demanded.
He also maintained that Moscow no longer respects international frameworks. “Russia has long since abandoned any regard for international norms and human values. Its only interest is to continue with the killings,” he declared.
When referring to external assistance, the Ukrainian president asked that allies assume the impact of their support in protecting the population. “It is important that our partners fully understand that protecting lives also depends on them,” he noted.
Zelensky assured that the most urgent need is the reinforcement of air defense. “Interceptors for Patriot systems are the number one priority,” he stated.
