Two people are identified who died crushed by a wall in Las Palmas de Herrera

Santo Domingo.– Two men lost their lives on Friday afternoon after the collapse of a wall that fell on them while they were walking on the sidewalk of the Duarte Vieja highway, in the Las Palmas de Herrera sector. The victims were preliminarily identified as Radhamés Rodríguez Sierra, 60 years old, and Jhonatha López Ramírez, 23, who were walking through the area at the time of the incident. The event occurred around 5:50 in the afternoon, which led to the rapid intervention of units from the National Emergency and Security Attention System 911, members of the Fire Department, agents of the Preventive Police and personnel from the Central Investigation Directorate (Dicrim).

According to information provided by the National Police spokesman, Diego Pesqueira, the authorities remain at the scene awaiting the official removal of the bodies, while investigations are underway to determine the causes of the structure’s collapse. The event has generated consternation among residents of the sector, who ask the authorities to review the conditions of buildings in the area to avoid similar tragedies.
