El Seibo.– Two young people lost their lives in a traffic accident that occurred on the El Seibo-Higüey highway, near the Pavón junction, an event that has caused consternation among the residents of the La Higuera community, Santa Lucía municipal district.
The victims were identified as Francisca Gálvez Vicente, known as “Raquel”, 32, and Willian Rosario, 25, both residents of the aforementioned community.
According to preliminary reports, the accident occurred following a collision between a red Nissan Sentra car and the motorcycle on which the young people were traveling.
As a consequence of the impact, Raquel died at the scene, while Willian Rosario was assisted by a unit of the 9-1-1 National Emergency and Security Attention System and transported to the Dr. Teófilo Hernández Hospital, where he later died while receiving medical attention.
Agents from the General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Safety (Digesett), members of the National Police, representatives of the Public Ministry, and the medical examiner, who performed the removal of the woman’s body, arrived at the scene.

The vehicles involved were impounded for the corresponding purposes, while authorities continue the investigations to establish the circumstances under which the accident occurred.
So far, there has been no official report regarding the situation of the driver of the car involved in the collision.
The tragedy has caused deep sorrow among family members, friends, and residents of La Higuera, who mourn the loss of both young people.
