Santiago.– A video circulating on social media has added a new element to the investigation into the death of First Lieutenant Florangel Duarte Rodríguez, by showing the officer stating that he did not want to continue in the ranks of the National Police and expressing that he felt betrayed by some of his colleagues.
The audiovisual began to circulate a few hours after the officer was found lifeless in the bathroom of the Police Supervisory Office in the El Ejido sector, in Santiago, an event that the authorities are keeping under investigation.
In the images, Duarte Rodríguez holds a tense conversation with several agents, whom he reproaches for alleged betrayals and expresses his decision to no longer belong to the institution. Meanwhile, other police officers try to calm him down and understand the reasons for his behavior.

According to the preliminary report, the officers who shared duties with the official tried to communicate with him without receiving a response. Upon starting their search, they located him without vital signs inside the police facilities.

The National Police and the Public Ministry reported that investigations are continuing to precisely establish the circumstances under which the officer’s death occurred, which is why they have not yet offered definitive conclusions on the case.
The dissemination of the video has generated numerous reactions on social media, while the lieutenant’s family and close associates demand that the investigation determine with transparency what happened before his death.
