Wilkin García “Mantequilla” transferred to Monte Plata for judicial process hearing

Santo Domingo.– The National Police reported this Wednesday that the arrest warrant against Wilkin García Peguero, popularly known as “Mantequilla”, was executed through a joint operation carried out by the Specialized Fugitive Capture Unit of the Attorney General’s Office and search and capture agents from the law enforcement institution.

The National Police spokesperson, Colonel Diego Pesqueira, explained that García Peguero remained in custody overnight on Tuesday in the Ciudad Nueva sector of the National District, following his arrest.

Pesqueira indicated that this Wednesday the accused was transferred to the Monte Plata province, where judicial authorities will hear the proceedings related to the arrest warrant issued against him.

The institution did not offer additional details regarding the charges that prompted the measure, limiting itself to noting that the procedure was carried out in coordination with the Public Prosecutor’s Office and in accordance with current legal provisions.

The National Police reiterated its commitment to continue supporting the Public Ministry in the efforts to locate, capture, and bring to justice individuals required by the country’s courts.

Wilkin García, known as “Mantequilla,” gained public notoriety after promoting an investment scheme in the Monte Plata province, a case that subsequently led to multiple legal proceedings and complaints from affected investors.
