Santo Domingo.- The young woman who was accompanying the renowned Dominican choreographer Iván Tejada at the time of the traffic accident that occurred on May 28th also passed away as a result of the injuries sustained in the incident, the spokesperson for the National Police, Diego Pesqueira, reported this Monday.
The victim was identified as Yeimy Elizabeth Ferrera Valdez, who was seriously injured after the accident and was taken to the Dr. Marcelino Vélez Santana Hospital to receive medical attention. Tejada, for his part, was admitted to the Dr. Darío Contreras Traumatology Hospital, where he passed away last Saturday after several days of hospitalization.
Pesqueira explained that both were traveling on a scooter when they were struck by a vehicle, and the driver involved notified the appropriate authorities after the incident occurred.

The case generated great public attention after relatives and acquaintances of Tejada reported his disappearance before he was located in a health center. Subsequently, it was confirmed that he remained admitted to the Doctor Darío Contreras Traumatological Hospital due to the injuries suffered in the accident.
According to the data provided by the Police, Ferrera Valdez died first as a result of the trauma and injuries caused by the impact, while Tejada died a day later after remaining under specialized medical care.
