Young man arrested in La Vega, accused of violating the Law on High Technology Crimes and Offenses

La Vega. – Agents of the Regional Sub-Directorate of Investigation (Dicrim) of the National Police arrested a 19-year-old man who was wanted by a court order for alleged violation of Law 53-07 on Crimes and High Technology Crimes. The detainee was identified as Víctor Manuel Moronta Rodríguez, a resident of the La Carmelita sector of this province, who voluntarily presented himself to the authorities after learning that there was an arrest warrant against him. According to the police report, arrest warrant No. 2026-AJ0022307 was issued on March 21, 2026, by the Permanent Attention Service Office of the Judicial District of La Vega.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Moronta Rodríguez is being accused of the alleged violation of article 15 of Law 53-07, to the detriment of a citizen whose identity has been reserved by the authorities. The National Police did not offer further details on the specific nature of the investigated events, because the case is under judicial process. The institution reported that the young man will be placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes and to continue with the procedure established by law.
