Zulinka Pérez reveals that she does not keep in touch with her half-siblings or her uncles

Santo Domingo. – Singer Zulinka Pérez, daughter of the deceased artist Rubby Pérez, revealed that she currently does not maintain communication or closeness with her half-siblings or with her uncles, her father’s siblings, one of the most respected and admired figures in Dominican music. The artist made these statements during an interview, conducted alongside her husband and musical partner from the duo “Zulinka y Miguel”, on the program “Versión Original”, where she spoke about the beginning of the year 2026 in her musical project, as well as the difficult emotional process she has gone through after the loss of her father, who died as one of the fatalities of the Jet Set tragedy. When questioned about the current relationship with the artist’s other family members, Zulinka assured that she inherited honesty from her father, and therefore decided to speak frankly on the subject.

He explained that, although he maintains a close relationship with his siblings from the same parents, which has been preserved since childhood despite the death of both parents, the same does not happen with his half-siblings or his uncles. “I am a very objective person and I have always tried to stay out of it. I am focused on working. Yes, I can tell you that my siblings from the same father and mother have always had a good relationship and everything is fine. Since we were little, we have been so united. What is in others is not in my control,” expressed Zulinka. The singer clarified that she considers herself a woman who respects the decisions of others and emphasized that her words should not be interpreted as a direct accusation towards her other family members. “I can’t tell you ‘I love you’ or ‘I want to be by your side’ if you don’t want to. I have to respect that. I’m not saying that’s how things are, mind you, put it in big, red letters, please. It’s a position, I’m giving an example,” he explained, making it clear that he’s not saying his other siblings don’t love her. However, she was emphatic in confirming that there is no communication with them and that currently, although they are united by a family and blood bond, each one is on their own side. “No, I don’t have communication with my other siblings. I am sincere, I am like my dad, that’s why I’ve fallen so badly, simply because I am sincere. I was taught that. This is me. If you want to consume me, great; if not, I also respect it, because I can’t change because another person wants to. I have to feel happy with myself,” she added. When referring to her uncles, Rubby Pérez’s brothers, who have been very public figures after the artist’s death, Zulinka stated that the situation is similar to the one she faces with her half-siblings. “No, everyone on their own side, everyone on their side, and I respect that. It’s not that I don’t have a point, it’s just that I don’t want to argue with idiots. I don’t feel like it, because my vibe, the peace I’ve built over so many years, no one is going to take it away from me,” she stated. The singer assured that she has healed emotionally and that she holds no grudges against anyone, making it clear that although she does not maintain a close relationship with her family, she does not wish them ill. “I have a clean heart because I have healed, because I have never held a grudge against anyone. No one is going to sow a seed of resentment in my heart. I have to move forward, I have a son, I have a family, I have siblings who want to see me smile… that’s what matters to me, not what anyone says,” she affirmed. Regarding the reasons why there isn’t a close relationship with her father’s siblings, Zulinka explained that they are actually Rubby Pérez’s half-siblings and that, out of respect, there are situations she prefers not to disclose publicly. “They are half-siblings of dad, so there was never… yes, there was a closeness because we met on the 24th, we did certain things together, but there are many things behind that nobody knows and are not going to be said either. Dad used to say: ‘it’s better to leave a guilty person than to blame an innocent one’. I will always stay on the sidelines, I am not going to blame anyone. I bless them, I bless everyone, because that’s what they taught me: to bless, to give love,” he expressed. It should be remembered that, after the death of Rubby Pérez, a possible fracture in the family relationship has been evidenced, especially between Zulinka and the other family members, who, in addition to being a daughter, was part of the artist’s group and was seen as one of the people very close to the artist. This alleged division was revealed during the tribute “Rubby Pérez Infinito”, in which it was initially reported that Zulinka would be one of the major absentees, according to the production team of which her uncles were a part, due to the artist’s work commitments.
