A tourist would have died in a tragic bus accident in Villa Hermosa, La Romana

La Romana. – A tourist reportedly died on the night of this Sunday after a serious traffic accident recorded on the curve of the 10 of Cumayasa, on the Autovía del Este, within the municipality of Villa Hermosa, La Romana province. The bus, which was carrying foreigners, lost control on the well-known “devil’s curve” when traveling from Punta Cana to Santo Domingo.

In addition to the fatality, more than twenty passengers were injured and taken to different health centers in La Romana, according to preliminary information provided by rescuers in the area. Units from the National Emergency and Security Attention System 911, as well as the Fire Department, a unit from the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) and another from the General Directorate of Traffic and Ground Transportation Safety (DIGESETT), attended the scene, working on assisting those affected, facilitating traffic flow, and conducting the corresponding survey. Authorities continue investigations to determine the exact causes of the accident and an official report with further details is expected to be offered in the coming hours.
