Abinader arrived in Chile for the inauguration of President José Antonio Kast

Santiago de Chile.- President Luis Abinader arrived this Tuesday at 6:30 P.M., Chile time, at Arturo Merino Benítez Airport, of Santiago de Chile, to attend the inauguration as the new Chilean president, José Antonio Kast, this March 11. In this meeting will participate the Dominican president, the first lady Raquel Arbaje, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Álvarez, and Adriana Abinader Arbaje.

Upon his arrival in Chilean territory, as part of the official agenda, the Dominican president will make the protocol greeting along with other heads of State and Government with the President of Chile, Gabriel Boric, at the Palacio de La Moneda. Subsequently, the Dominican head of state will attend a reception offered by President Gabriel Boric for the international delegations invited. Presidential handover ceremony The official agenda will continue on Wednesday with the solemn ceremony of the presidential handover and the swearing-in of the new cabinet in the Hall of Honor of the National Congress, in Valparaíso, where José Antonio Kast will receive the presidential sash and formally assume as president of Chile. Later, Abinader will participate in a lunch offered by President José Antonio Kast and the First Lady of Chile, María Pía Adriasola de Kast, in honor of the heads of state and invited authorities. Delegations from states and/or governments confirmed for the inauguration According to the Chilean Chancellery, the Dominican president is among the heads of state or government who, along with King Felipe VI of Spain, will participate in the inauguration of the elected Chilean ruler. The rulers of Argentina, Javier Milei; Ecuador, Daniel Noboa; Bolivia, Rodrigo Paz; Costa Rica, Rodrigo Chaves; Honduras, Nasry Asfura; Hungary, Tamás Sulyok; Panama, José Raúl Mulino; Paraguay, Santiago Peña and Uruguay, Yamandú Orsi, confirmed their attendance at the ceremony. Also the prime ministers of Curaçao, Gilmar Pisas and of Haiti, Alix Fils-Aimé, and vice presidents of El Salvador, Félix Ulloa; that of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue. In addition, the Deputy Prime Ministers of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Antonio Tajani, and the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for a Green Deal, Teresa Ribera.
