Barrero, Puerto Plata.- Members of the
Civil Defense, rescue units, and investigative agencies are preparing to begin a
terrain clearing operation with rakes, shovels, and other excavation tools in the community of
Barrero, in the municipality of Imbert, in search of the possible location where the body of the girl
Brianna Genao Rosario, just
three years old, could be found. The case has
shocked the province and the country after an intense investigation that confirmed her death.
For days, search and tracking efforts in the area have been constant, given the authorities’ version that the remains of the minor could be buried somewhere in the rural area of Barrero. The use of rakes, shovels, picks and other tools is added to the search that already includes the participation of canine units, drones and teams specialized in human tracking.
For this reason, both the National Police and the Public Ministry identified two uncles of the girl as the main suspects. These are Rafael Rosario Núñez, alias Papito, aged 52 years, and Reyes Rosario Núñez, aged 43 years, both direct relatives of the minor. The two men are in custody at the police headquarters in Puerto Plata while investigations continue.
Authorities have indicated that the discarding operation will be carried out with
meticulousness and expanded to other areas of the community as new evidence emerges in the investigation, which includes interviews, tracking and gathering of evidence to
strengthen the judicial record.
