Santo Domingo.- This Saturday, January 31st, marks one month since the disappearance of the girl Brianna Genao, without the authorities having been able to locate her since December 31st in the community of Barrero, municipality of Imbert, Puerto Plata.
The case has generated deep concern among family, friends, and community members, who continue to cling to the hope of finding her alive. Since the day of her disappearance, security agencies have carried out various investigations and inquiries. For the search for the girl of only 3 years old, they deployed a large operation in which the Public Ministry, the National Police —through Dintel and SWAT teams—, Civil Defense, the National Emergency Attention System 9-1-1, including technicians from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Around 70 people, organized into seven tactical teams, combed mountainous zones, areas of difficult access, slopes and landslides in the community.The Public Ministry maintains all lines of investigation active to clarify the facts and establish criminal responsibilities for what happened in Puerto Plata. Under suspicion, the minor’s great-uncles, Rafael and Reyes Rosario Nuñez, were arrested, but released due to insufficient binding evidence.Brianna Genao González was last seen around 5:00 in the afternoon at a two-story, green-colored house, where she was with maternal relatives, in the aforementioned community.

18 days after the disappearance of the girl Brianna Genao, family and friends from her father’s side held a peaceful march this Monday in the community of Barrero, municipality of Navarrete, Santiago province, with the aim of demanding answers from the authorities and preventing the case from going unpunished. During the mobilization, the protesters marched through several streets of the community carrying banners and slogans demanding justice and clarification of the facts.

The minor’s father, Carlos Manuel Genao, expressed the profound emotional impact his family is experiencing due to the lack of concrete information about the investigative process. Although he acknowledged the constant presence of the authorities in the area where the disappearance occurred, he pointed out that the family members receive scarce details about the progress of the case. The Attorney General of the Republic is reminded, Yeni Berenice Reynoso, assured that the authorities maintain active and constant investigation into the disappearance of Brianna Genao, stating that the designated team has not stopped carrying out investigations to clarify the case that occurred in the Barrero sector, in the province of Puerto Plata. “The team investigating that case has not stopped investigating for a single day, carrying out useful and relevant investigative procedures to discover the truth,” assured the magistrate, referring to the work carried out by the Public Prosecutor’s Office together with the security agencies.
Mother remembers her with an emotional video and asks not to suspend the search
Yessica Gonzales, mother of little Brianna Genao, shared this Saturday an emotional video on her Instagram account, in which she reflects the deep pain and unwavering hope of a mother who continues to cry out for the return of her daughter.The material shows a collection of photographs of Brianna from her birth to the age she was at the time of her disappearance. In the video, the young mother recounts that the girl was born prematurely on October 23, 2022 and that, despite the prognoses of some people who doubted her survival, Brianna grew up healthy and beautiful. In tears, the mother called on the authorities not to suspend the search for her only child and to clarify the case.
