Search for Brianna Genao in Puerto Plata suspended due to weather conditions

Santo Domingo. – The intense rains recorded in the northern zone of the country forced the rescue organizations to temporarily suspend the search for Brianna Genao Rosario, the three-year-old girl who has been missing since New Year’s Eve in Imbert, Puerto Plata. The decision was made after the Emergency Operations Center (COE) placed the province of Puerto Plata under yellow alert due to the trough affecting the national territory.

Despite the pause in the physical search, Civil Defense personnel, the Army, the National Police, and representatives of the Public Ministry remain stationed in the Barrero community. Brianna disappeared last December 31st, with today marking six days since she was last seen. Amidst the anguish, the girl’s grandfather formally requested the intervention of President Luis Abinader to intensify the investigation efforts.
