Accused of Brianna Genao’s death in Puerto Plata say they don’t remember where they buried the body

Santo Domingo.- Authorities reported this Wednesday that two men identified as responsible for the death of the girl Brianna Genao Rosario, three years old, claim not to remember the exact place where they buried her body, assuring that they acted in the dark. Faced with this version, rescue and security agencies are maintaining a large search operation in different areas of the rural community of Barrero, in the municipality of Imbert, Puerto Plata province, with the support of tracker dogs and drones.

The alleged individuals involved were identified as Rafael Rosario Núñez, alias Papito, 52 years old, and Reyes Rosario Núñez, 43 years old, who are said to be the minor’s uncles. Both are in custody at the National Police headquarters in Puerto Plata. According to preliminary investigations, the men are accused of the murder and subsequent burial of the girl, who had been reported missing since December 31, 2025. Members of the Civil Defense, the Dominican Republic Army, and agents of the National Police are participating in the search efforts, who continue to comb rural areas in the hope of locating the body and fully clarifying this event that has shocked the community.
