Santo Domingo Este.- With much emotion, the Bardilla-Frías family receives this Sunday the keys to their new apartment in the Ciudad Real Ecológica project, near Ecológica Avenue, in Ciudad Juan Bosch. With tears of joy, Juana Frías, the family’s mother, expressed the surprise and gratitude with which they receive this blessing: “Very excited because we weren’t expecting it. We always dreamed of having our own apartment, and thanks to the Lord today we can say that we are beneficiaries of this great project.”

The couple highlighted that this delivery not only represents a ceiling, but a profound change for their family life. “With this house it will be a very good change, because we will no longer have to pay for a house that is not ours; now we will have something of our own, our home,” added Juana with emotion. For his part, Mr. Bardilla, recounted how the selection process was a surprise that turned into hope for the whole family. “I never imagined it would be our turn. We were in the raffle, and one day they called me from Familia Feliz to tell me there was a meeting. I attended, I participated… and thank God it was our turn. It was a great blessing.” The new owner took the opportunity to send a message to the other Dominican families who are waiting for their chance: “The process is long, but it’s worth it. Let them wait with faith, because this is a reality.” The Bardilla-Frías family is one of the 488 families benefiting from the homes delivered this Sunday by President Luis Abinader, as part of the Familia Feliz program, now under the direction of the Ministry of Housing and Buildings (MIVED). With this delivery, the Dominican government’s commitment to guarantee decent and safe homes for the families who need it most is ratified, thus strengthening the social fabric and hope in Santo Domingo Este.
