Santo Domingo.- The deputy of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Amado Díaz, lamented this Monday the passing of his party colleague and fellow legislator Jorge Frías, whom he defined as a great political asset for Santo Domingo East and highlighted the friendship they built despite their political differences.
During his attendance at Frías’ wake, at the Blandino funeral home on Sabana Larga Avenue, Díaz pointed out that the late deputy was not only his colleague in the Chamber of Deputies, but also a “battle companion” in the political struggles of the municipality.

“We never agreed politically, however, we developed a sincere friendship, a solid friendship,” Díaz expressed, while highlighting the relationship he maintained with Frías throughout the years.
The legislator stated that with the death of Frías, Santo Domingo Este loses an important political figure, a colleague, and a leader who represented an asset for the municipality and for the PRM.
“We lose a great political figure, we lose an excellent colleague, we lose a great political asset,” he stated.
Díaz avoided referring to possible political scenarios resulting from Frías’s absence and considered that this is not the time to address such matters, as the priority should be to pay tribute to the deceased legislator.
“For now, the ideal thing is to focus on saying goodbye to him as he deserves. And then those kinds of things can be analyzed later,” he maintained.
Regarding the emotional impact of the loss, the deputy acknowledged that facing the death of a colleague is difficult and assured that, although people are aware that they may eventually go through situations like this, they are never completely prepared to face them.
“It is something one is never prepared for, but also aware that these are things that can happen,” he expressed.
The remains of Jorge Frías are being waked this Monday at the Blandino funeral home in Santo Domingo East and will be buried this Tuesday at the Jardín Memorial, where family members, political leaders, legislators, and loved ones will bid him their final farewell.
