Clúster Santiago Tourist Destination presents new directive and strategic plan

Santiago. – The Santiago Tourist Destination Cluster officially presented its new directive, initiating a stage focused on consolidating Santiago as a diverse, competitive, and sustainable tourist destination. From now on and under the presidency of the communicator and psychologist Brenda Sánchez, the Cluster will have a vision of economic and social development for the city.

During the event, Santiago’s potential as a cultural, historical, and economic center of the Cibao was highlighted, as well as the impact of tourism on the generation of opportunities for SMEs, the strengthening of gastronomy, culture, and local commerce. The new management will work over the next two years on four strategic axes: city positioning and brand; development and diversification of the tourist offer; articulation, training and quality; and promotion, alliances and sustainability. “With these strategic points, what we seek is to boost segments such as cultural, health, religious, gastronomic, sports, ecological, and events tourism,” explained Sánchez. The directive is headed by its president, along with Yomaris Gómez vice president, Kenia Rodríguez secretary, Germán Ulises Polanco in finance and the vocals Luis Felipe Rodríguez, Deyanira Pappaterra and Luciano Aybar. During his words, the mayor of Santiago, Ulises Rodriguez, reaffirmed his commitment to continue working hand in hand with the Santiago Tourist Destination Cluster, supporting initiatives that position Santiago as a modern, orderly city open to the world, without losing its identity and values. The Cluster reaffirms its commitment to work in an articulated manner with the Ministry of Tourism, the Mayor’s Office of Santiago, and other key actors, to strengthen the positioning of Santiago de los Caballeros as a city to live authentic experiences and of national and international projection. During the presentation ceremony, several recognitions were awarded, including Ramón Paulino, former president of Clúster Santiago, and Edmundo Aja, CEO of the Hodelpa hotel chain.
