SANTO DOMINGO – In a recent and forceful intervention on the program “Esto No es Radio Show”, journalist Ramón Tolentino denounced what he describes as a “hidden escape” of several inmates from the Najayo Hombres prison, among whom is Brian Manuel Heredia, the main accused of taking the life of the young taxi driver Wascar Gil.
Tolentino revealed that, despite Heredia being sentenced to one year of preventive detention in 2024 for the brutal crime, the individual managed to escape from the prison facility just three or four days after his admission. According to the communicator, the escape occurred along with four other inmates and was kept under total secrecy, with no record of the event appearing in the media.

The tragedy of Wascar Gil
The journalist recounted with indignation the details of the case of Wascar Gil, a 23-year-old young man who, after being left immobilized by a fall from a fourth floor, fought arduously in therapy until he was able to walk with crutches and work as a taxi driver to support his three-year-old son.
The crime occurred on August 30, 2024, when Heredia, who worked as a private security guard at a fast-food business, requested a taxi service through an application.

“This charlatan, irresponsible and criminal person gets on with the shotgun with which he works,” stated Tolentino, detailing that the aggressor shot Gil in the back to steal his belongings and the vehicle, leaving the body decomposing inside the car for days.
Urgent request to the National Police
Given the seriousness of an individual of such danger being free, Tolentino made an energetic call to the authorities:
- Search priority: “I ask the police… I call on Fugitives to put this man in first place today.”
- Decisive action: The journalist urged the uniformed officers to “confront” Heredia, whom he described as a “vigilante charlatan” and a “rat” who will not surrender peacefully.
- Criticism of security: He questioned the effectiveness of the penitentiary system and the lack of transparency, pointing out that “security is not really that” if an inmate of that category can escape almost immediately after his trial.
The journalist concluded by warning about the “danger on the streets” posed by the presence of Heredia and 500 other highly dangerous fugitives who, according to his information, are circulating in the country without being properly pursued.
