Punta Cana.- The commercial director of Coral Hospitality Corp., Ramón Tejeda, informed that the company projects investments ranging from 80 to 90 million dollars in the development of new hotels in the Dominican Republic, strengthening its presence in key tourist destinations.

Tejeda explained that the investment covers projects in Punta Cana, Puerto Plata, and Pedernales, including international brands and new hotel proposals. Among the main openings, the DoubleTree by Hilton in Punta Cana stands out, the first of this brand in the area, with 129 rooms. The hotel will be located in a strategic area with a wide range of entertainment, restaurants and nightlife, which will allow attracting both leisure and business tourists. Also, he announced the construction of a Holiday Inn in Cofresí, Puerto Plata, with 115 rooms, aimed at an urban model that seeks to attract business visitors and tourists who prefer a more flexible experience outside the all-inclusive scheme. In the south of the country, the company is developing another Holiday Inn in Pedernales, also with 115 rooms, which is scheduled to open in the first half of next year. This project will be the first international franchise hotel in that area and will have facilities for events, weddings and a privileged location facing the sea.

Overall, these developments will add between 350 and 360 rooms, consolidating Coral Hospitality’s expansion in the country.

Tejada highlighted that the Dominican Republic continues to be an attractive destination for tourism investment due to its sustained economic growth, stability, and legal security. In that sense, he valued the climate of confidence that has driven the development of hubs such as Punta Cana. However, he pointed out that one of the main challenges remains urban planning and infrastructure improvement, especially in terms of mobility, to ensure a better experience for both tourists and residents. Finally, he highlighted the country’s potential to diversify its tourism offer, betting that visitors can easily move between destinations such as Punta Cana, Puerto Plata and Santo Domingo, thus expanding the experience beyond a single tourist hub.
