DGII establishes 2026-2027 vehicle registration sticker fees: vehicles will pay between RD$2,000 and RD$4,000

The General Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII) established the amounts that motor vehicle owners must pay for the Vehicle Circulation Tax, popularly known as the “marbete,” corresponding to the 2026-2027 period.
According to the information released regarding the provision, vehicles manufactured up to and including the year 2021 must pay RD$2,000, while those manufactured from the year 2022 onwards will have to pay RD$4,000.
The applicable fee will depend on the vehicle’s year of manufacture, so owners must verify their unit’s data before proceeding with the renewal.
The “marbete” is the annual tax that motor vehicle owners must pay to legally circulate on public roads in the Dominican Republic.
Taxpayers are advised to stay alert to official announcements from the DGII to learn about the renewal schedule, the channels enabled to acquire the sticker, and the provisions related to possible surcharges for missing the established deadline.
