Taxpayers can carry out the process online through the web portal or the mobile application of the DGII, entering their ID number or RNC and the vehicle’s license plate data. For digital renewal, payment is made exclusively by credit card.

The DGII reported that the online requested vehicle registration stickers are delivered within an approximate period of four working days in Greater Santo Domingo and up to eight working days in the interior of the country. In the case of in-person renewal, delivery is immediate. Those who prefer to make the payment in person can go to any of the 47 authorized financial institutions, which have 856 branches nationwide, as well as to the DGII collection offices located in Villa Vásquez, Montecristi province, and Sánchez, in Samaná. This method will be available until January 31, 2026. The tax amounts remain the same as the previous period: RD$1,500 for vehicles manufactured up to the year 2020 and RD$3,000 for those manufactured from 2021. The collecting entity warned that those who do not renew within the established deadline must pay surcharges. The penalty will be RD$2,000 for vehicles that do not renew before January 31, 2026; RD$2,100 for those who owe the 2024-2025 sticker, including the administrative cessation charge; and RD$3,100 for vehicles with expired stickers from the 2023-2024 period or previous years.
