The prominent Uruguayan actor Fernando Kliche has passed away at the age of 71. It was ChileActores who confirmed the news on their Instagram account.
The actor was completely active, so his passing was a surprise to everyone. Just a few weeks ago, he was announced as part of the cast of “Prohibida obsesión”, the new nighttime soap opera on Mega. In that production, he played Hernán, the father of Sigrid Alegría’s character.
According to sources from BioBioChile, the artist had been suffering from a fulminant cancer, which led him to withdraw from the aforementioned production a month and a half ago. Nevertheless, he managed to film 22 scenes of his participation.
His first role was in “Casagrande”, a Canal 13 television series, this after being discovered by Arturo Moya Grau, since the Uruguayan heartthrob was a veterinarian by profession.
It was on the set of “La Madrastra”, where his father Walter Kliche worked, that the playwright noticed his talent, and from there it only grew.

However, his leap to stardom was in ‘Marrón glacé’. There, he played Octavio, a waiter recently arrived from Brazil who was hiding his true intentions of seeking revenge for his father.
For more than a decade, Kliche was part of the play “¿Por qué será que las queremos tanto?” alongside Pato Torres, his great friend.

However, a few days ago, as Torres told La Radio, he had to leave his role: “We were together for 12 seasons with Fernando; now he cannot do the play for very personal reasons and he handed the character over to Remigio Remedi,” he said at the time.
