Beijing.- At least 28 people died this Thursday in a fire at a shoe factory in the southeastern Chinese province of Fujian, authorities reported, as cited by state media.
The fire broke out around 12:00 local time (04:00 GMT) in a warehouse belonging to the company Fujian Huiteng Shoes, located in the city of Jinjiang.

According to state television CCTV, a preliminary assessment placed the origin of the fire in a first-floor workshop, where footwear materials were accumulated at the security exits.
