Barcelona.- The king of Spain has made a call this Sunday for moderation in the use of force in the Middle East and has demanded respect for the lives of civilians and the search for a diplomatic solution to the current situation of confrontation after the start of the operation ‘Epic Fury’ in Iran.

A situation, the head of State has warned, with a clear risk of regional escalation and “unpredictable consequences”. And he explained that a diplomatic solution is the way to avoid a chaotic situation and direct repression, as well as the way to restore dialogue for an honest search for peace. He has also referred to the situation in Ukraine and recalled how in this very forum, just days after Russia invaded Ukrainian territory, he underlined the indispensable nature of the principles that hold the international community together, such as peace, dialogue, and cooperation. “Four years after the start of Putin’s aggression, there is still no clear path to peace. We must remain firm in our defense of the ethical dimension of humanity, its values and its principles, which are universal,” the monarch recalled.
