Berlin.- A German nurse sentenced last year to life imprisonment for killing ten patients by administering lethal injections is being investigated for another 121 suspicious cases, as confirmed this Monday by the Aachen Public Prosecutor’s Office (western Germany).
“So far there are 121 suspected cases and 39 exhumations have been carried out. The investigations reach up to September 2022 so far,” declared prosecutor Katja Schlenkermann-Pitts.

He added that no charges have yet been formalized for these new cases investigated against the nurse, who is serving a sentence in Aachen prison, but he anticipated that this may happen starting next year.
In November of last year, the Aachen Regional Court convicted the nurse of ten murders and 27 attempted murders for having injected patients at a palliative care center.

The events for which he was found guilty occurred between December 2023 and May 2024 at a clinic in Würselen, near Aachen.
The investigation was based on an accumulation of strong evidence stemming from the fact that there was a clear increase in mortality when the nurse was on shift, at night, to which were added testimonies from relatives who said they had seen him administering injections to sleeping patients without there apparently being any reason for it.
During the trial, the nurse maintained his innocence and claimed he did not know that the doses administered could cause the patients’ deaths, while the prosecution attributed narcissistic traits and a personality disorder to him, due to which the patients caused him such rejection that he decided to end their lives.
