Bogota.- Valentina Vanegas, the mother of the two-month-old baby who was rescued alive along with his father after the earthquake that shook Colombia last Monday, was found dead this Saturday under the rubble of a collapsed building in Cali, a city where at least 111 other people have died.
Vanegas, 39, remained trapped for six days in the Limonar building, in the south of the city, where rescue teams have been searching for the missing since the day of the earthquake.

The woman was the mother of Salomón, whose rescue from the rubble on August 12th became one of the moments of hope in the tragedy.
The baby was found alive next to his father, Juan David Gómez, after rescuers heard a voice in the rubble alerting them that there was a baby.
In the same building, Juan Esteban, brother of Juan David and uncle of the baby, was also found lifeless.
The 7.4-magnitude earthquake has left 294 dead, 3,935 injured, and 320 missing as of this Saturday, according to the latest report from the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD).
