Severe floods and landslides in Nepal have caused widespread destruction, with 19 bridges and around 40 kilometers of roads washed away, according to an update reported by the BBC.
At least 13 hydropower projects in the affected region have also been damaged, while more than 200 trucks were swept away by the floodwaters.
The number of deaths and missing people remains unknown as authorities continue assessing the scale of the disaster. An official casualty report has yet to be released.
India and China have offered assistance, while Nepal’s government has called on local and international non-governmental organizations to support rescue and relief operations.
Authorities continue working to reach affected communities and assess the full extent of the damage.
