Mexican federal authorities arrested in the state of Hidalgo Alejandro Rosales Castillo, who was on the list of the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted for various crimes such as homicide, robbery, and kidnapping.
According to information from the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, the detainee had a red notice issued by Interpol and an arrest warrant for extradition purposes.
In addition, it was detailed that Rosales is wanted by the authorities of the state of North Carolina, in the USA, for the crimes of first-degree murder of his former co-worker Sandy Ly Le in 2016, armed robbery, vehicle theft, and first-degree kidnapping.
The FBI specified that Rosales was last seen on August 16, 2016 in a surveillance video crossing the border from Arizona into Mexico, and for almost a decade they were looking for clues that would allow them to locate him.
The operation was the result of a binational collaboration. After the exchange of information, elements of the Mexican federal authorities learned that the municipality of Pachuca was the man’s area of residence.
“Based on this information, surveillance actions were implemented in different areas of the municipality and, during security patrols, the agents identified a man who matched the characteristics of the wanted person, so, after corroborating his identity, he was arrested“, they affirm, adding that the detainee was placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office pending extradition.
