Lima, Peru.– Former leftist presidential candidate Roberto Sánchez acknowledged this Monday the proclamation of Keiko Fujimori as president-elect of Peru, although he reiterated his questioning of the electoral process, maintaining that it was marked by alleged irregularities.
The pronouncement came days after the National Jury of Elections (JNE) officially proclaimed Fujimori as the winner of the presidential elections for the 2026-2031 term, after concluding the count of an election defined by a narrow margin of votes.

Despite accepting the official result, Sánchez insisted that situations occurred during the process that, in his view, must be clarified by the electoral authorities, although he did not disregard the decision adopted by the competent body.
