Although Parolin did not give details, the newspaper The Washington Post published on January 9th that the pontifical State would have tried to negotiate an asylum offer in Russia for the Venezuelan president.The Vatican’s ‘number two’ also stated that a democratization of the country is now ‘necessary’.
