U.S. President Donald Trump said Monday that Iran is “officially a failed nation,” claiming that the country no longer has functioning armed forces and that its leadership is in “complete disarray.”
“Iran is officially a failed nation. It is dead!” Trump wrote on Truth Social, also claiming that Iran has no navy or air force, that inflation has reached 300% and that soldiers and police are not being paid.
His comments came amid a renewed escalation in the Strait of Hormuz, including a reported U.S. strike on Iran’s Larak Island and an Iranian attack on U.S. positions in the United Arab Emirates.
