Two U.S. soldiers were killed after an AH-64E Apache attack helicopter based at Fort Hood crashed in Salado, Texas, according to the military base.
Fort Hood confirmed the deaths in a statement, saying personnel remained at the scene and were working with local emergency responders. The identities of the soldiers are being withheld until their families are notified.
The Army has not yet disclosed what caused the crash or what activity the helicopter was conducting at the time of the incident. The crash comes two months after a U.S. Air Force B-52 bomber crashed in California, killing all eight people aboard.
