VIDEO: EF-2 tornado hits Chile, causing severe damage to school
An EF-2 tornado caused severe damage to Tricahue School in the municipality of Requínoa, in Chile’s O’Higgins Region, on Monday afternoon, according to reports.
The weather event also affected the municipality of Rengo, causing damage in several areas, although the most significant reported destruction was concentrated in Requínoa.
Images shared after the tornado showed extensive damage to the school building. A second video, filmed from a nearby highway, provided a wider view of the destruction caused by the storm.
Authorities had not provided further details on the extent of the damage or whether anyone was injured at the time of the report.
