Banreservas and LIDOM present the 2025-26 Baseball Championship Cup

Santo Domingo.- Banco de Reservas and the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) presented this Tuesday the Autumn-Winter Baseball Championship Cup 2025-2026, dedicated to Cooperstown immortal Juan Marichal.

During the event, the CEO of Banreservas, Dr. Leonardo Aguilera, expressed that the financial institution is more than pleased to support, for the fifth consecutive year, the king sport of the Dominican Republic. “We maintain and will maintain that commitment, because Dominicans deserve that their main pastime always be at its best; as high as the 411-foot wall of the Quisqueya Juan Marichal stadium,” Aguilera affirmed. The CEO also highlighted that this season, which begins this Wednesday, is dedicated to Don Juan Marichal, a mound legend who delighted fans and opponents with his enormous talent for pitching. For his part, Vitelio Mejía Ortiz, president of LIDOM, thanked Banreservas for its support as the main sponsor of the tournament, which brings together the six teams that make up the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League. Also, the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, stated that the new generations have in Juan Marichal a living example of discipline and commitment to develop a sports career full of successes. The unveiling of the trophy was carried out by Dr. Leonardo Aguilera, Vitelio Mejía Ortiz, Juan Marichal, and the representatives of the teams that will compete for the cup. During this LIDOM 2025-2026 season, each team is scheduled to play 50 games in the regular season. Key dates include the season final in December and the start of the playoffs in January. The champion team will represent the Dominican Republic in the 2026 Caribbean Series.
