Brewers win tenth straight game and reach the top of the National League Central Division

LOS ANGELES — With a timely offense and taking advantage of defensive errors by the rival, the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers this Sunday 6-5, completing a historic sweep and achieving their tenth consecutive victory in the 2025 Major League Baseball season.
The team led by Pat Murphy tied for first place in the National League Central Division with the Chicago Cubs (59-40), after the latter fell to the Red Sox. The sweep against the Dodgers, the first in their history against the Los Angeles franchise in a series of at least five games, reflects Milwaukee’s great moment.
The match began as an expected duel between veterans José Quintana and Clayton Kershaw, but the Brewers’ offense changed the script by taking advantage of three defensive errors by the Dodgers, two of them during a three-run rally in the fourth inning. Isaac Collins led that attack with a two-run RBI hit.
Colombian Quintana was key from the mound, working six innings despite a difficult fourth inning in which he allowed three runs. “These guys are wonderful. They want to play and don’t lose their hunger,” declared the left-hander after the victory, who defends his eighth uniform in 14 seasons in the Majors. The winning streak has been fueled by role players like Andrew Vaughn, acquired from the White Sox, and Blake Perkins, who returned from a long injury. The bullpen has also delivered, allowing Milwaukee to build a winning formula without relying on big names. With this result, Milwaukee is shaping up to be one of the most dangerous teams in the National League in the second half of the season. The victory also represented their third streak of 10 straight wins since 1995.Other highlighted data:
- The Brewers are now 59-40.
- They are the first team since the 1994 Braves and the 2006 Cardinals to sweep the Dodgers in a series of at least five games.
- Quintana earned his third win since joining the team.
