The Dominican stole his 29th and 30th bases in the first inning of the duel against the Dodgers, adding them to his 32 home runs to seal his second 30/30 season in Major League Baseball, an unprecedented milestone in the history of the Seattle Mariners.
Rodriguez, 24, had already achieved this mark in 2023, and now repeats it after a campaign in which he has played 160 of 161 games, accumulating more than 1,400 innings in center field, the third highest figure in all of MLB. His durability and consistency have been key in Seattle’s classification towards the postseason.
“This is what brought us here,” Rodríguez declared. “We are not going to change our style of play now. Sure, we must be smart, but we are going to remain aggressive.”
