SANTO DOMINGO. – The Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (Lidom) confirmed that this week the 2025-2026 autumn-winter tournament will experience an unprecedented day, with the scheduling of three doubleheaders on the same day, as a result of the games suspended due to the passage of storm Melissa.

This historic adjustment is combined with the teams’ moves in search of depth to face the intense workload, including the integration of right-handed pitcher Travis Lakins into the rotation of the Leones del Escogido.

Three double shifts in one day: an unprecedented event

For the first time since the 1983-84 expansion, Lidom will hold three doubleheaders in a single day, a situation never before recorded in the circuit. The last time a “double-header” occurred was on December 20, 2020, when Licey faced Águilas in Santiago and Gigantes played Estrellas in San Pedro de Macorís.
