LIDOM postpones Tuesday’s games due to the passage of Tropical Storm Melissa

SANTO DOMINGO. – The Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) announced the complete suspension of the games scheduled for this Tuesday of the 2025-2026 winter tournament, due to the adverse weather conditions caused by the passage of tropical storm Melissa over the national territory.

The decision was made following the recommendations of the meteorological and civil protection authorities, with the aim of preserving the safety of the players, technical staff, and fans. The matches affected by the suspension are:
  • Leones del Escogido vs. Gigantes del Cibao, at the Julián Javier stadium in San Francisco de Macorís (7:00 p.m.).
  • Toros del Este vs. Tigres del Licey, at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal stadium in Santo Domingo (7:30 p.m.).
  • Águilas Cibaeñas vs. Estrellas Orientales, at the Tetelo Vargas stadium in San Pedro de Macorís (7:30 p.m.).
LIDOM informed that the new dates for the rescheduling of these games will be announced in due course, and thanked the understanding of the public, also urging the population to stay tuned to official announcements about the weather conditions and the league’s decisions.
