SANTO DOMINGO.– The Technical Directorate of the Professional Baseball League of the Dominican Republic, Inc. (Lidom) reported that the game scheduled to be held on the night of this Monday, January 19, 2026, at 7:30 p.m., at the Francisco A. Micheli stadium in La Romana, corresponds to the game annulled by Contentious Resolution No. PL-002-2025-2026, originally played on January 16.

With this game, both teams involved will be completing the 18 games of the Round Robin schedule of the Dominican professional baseball tournament 2025-2026.

In that context, the president of the Águilas Cibaeñas, Víctor García Sued, revealed that the organization abides by Lidom’s decision and that the Santiago team will take the field tonight in La Romana, clearing up any uncertainty about the celebration of the game. Likewise, Lidom specified that if the final result of this encounter results in a tie between both teams in the second position of the Round Robin, an additional tie-breaking game must be held, in accordance with the provisions of article 19, literal e), of the current Regulations for the 2025-2026 tournament, at the headquarters of the team that won the particular series in the semifinal. Regarding the final scenario, it was reported that if the Toros del Este win tonight’s game, the Final Series will begin on Wednesday. In contrast, if the Águilas Cibaeñas prevail, a decisive game will be played tomorrow, Tuesday to define the second finalist. The official statement was issued this January 19, 2026 by the Technical Directorate of Lidom, as part of the regulatory provisions governing the semifinal phase of the championship.
