MILWAUKEE. — Japanese player Munetaka Murakami continues to have a dream start in the Major Leagues, hitting a home run for the third consecutive game with the Chicago White Sox, confirming his impressive start in the MLB.
Murakami’s hit came in the second inning against the rookie pitcher of the Milwaukee Brewers, Brandon Sproat, in a full count (3-2). The first baseman hit a deep fly ball to right field that grazed the glove of outfielder Sal Frelick before crossing the fence, increasing the White Sox’s lead at that moment.
Murakami thus joins a select list of players who have started their careers in the Major Leagues with a home run in three consecutive games, a mark achieved by Trevor Story in 2016 by hitting a home run in his first four games. He also equals streaks like those of Kyle Lewis in 2019 and prospect Chase DeLauter, who also has three consecutive games with a home run at the start of this season.
