United States. Dominican baseball players once again left their mark on Tuesday’s Major League Baseball action, with significant performances both from the mound and with the bat.
Freddy Peralta, Otto López and José Soriano led the Dominican participation on a night full of Latino prominence.
Otto López leads Miami’s offense
The most offensively explosive was Otto López, who connected for three hits and scored four runs in the Miami Marlins’ 10-6 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Dominican player was key in the eighth inning by hitting the single that broke the tie and sparked a four-run rally that decided the game for Miami, a team that is going through one of its best recent stretches after winning six of its last seven games.

José Soriano dominates Houston
From the mound, José Soriano once again demonstrated his growth with the Los Angeles Angels by pitching five scoreless innings in the 10-1 victory against the Houston Astros.
The Dominican pitcher allowed just three hits, struck out seven batters, and survived several complicated moments thanks to a fastball that reached 97 miles per hour.

Soriano earned his fourth win of the campaign and lowered his ERA to 2.44, remaining one of the most reliable pieces of the Angels’ rotation in recent weeks.
Freddy Peralta suffers another defeat
The bitter note for the Dominicans came with Freddy Peralta, who took his fifth loss of the season in the New York Mets’ 7-0 defeat to the St. Louis Cardinals.
Peralta worked six innings in which he allowed six runs and struck out five batters, but was punished by a St. Louis offense that took advantage of a four-run third inning to tilt the game definitively.
Despite the result, the Dominican continues to be one of the Mets’ main pitching weapons this season.
