Schlittler dominates at Fenway and Yankees complete sweep over Boston

BOSTON. — Right-hander Cam Schlittler had a brilliant performance on a stage he knows well, guiding the New York Yankees to a 4-2 victory over the Boston Red Sox to complete a sweep at historic Fenway Park.

Schlittler, who grew up near Boston and was once a fan of the local team, pitched eight solid innings in his first professional start at Fenway, allowing just two runs (one earned) and four hits, with five strikeouts and one walk. The game remained close until the seventh inning, when Cody Bellinger, as a pinch hitter, hit a two-run single that definitively tipped the scales in favor of the New Yorkers. Aaron Judge also contributed with a run-scoring hit in that same inning. For Boston, Venezuelan Carlos Narváez hit a solo home run in the fifth inning, while prospect Payton Tolle impressed in his start by striking out 11 batters in six innings, allowing only a home run by Jazz Chisholm Jr..
