Metros maintain their undefeated streak and crush Titanes to improve to 5-0

Santiago.- The Santiago Metros extended their undefeated streak to 5-0 after a resounding 101-77 victory over the Titanes del Sur, in a game held at the Gran Arena del Cibao corresponding to the LNB Super League.

With this triumph, the Metros completed the sweep in the season’s head-to-head series against the current two-time champions, whom they had already surpassed by a wide margin on April 14th. The Santiago offense was led by Anthony Fairley, Jordan Hall and Oliver García, who combined for 64 points. Fairley contributed 22 units with great efficiency in field goals, in addition to 7 rebounds and 3 assists, while Hall added 21 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. García also scored 21, standing out from the three-point line.

For the Titans (1-4), Xavier Reyes stood out with 14 points, along with Jonathan Agustín (12), Brandon Spearman (10) and Shaun Williams (9).

The match started evenly, with the Metros taking the first quarter 19-18 thanks to Hall’s offensive push. In the second period, the home team managed to maintain control, although the Titans briefly reacted to take the lead before halftime. A layup by Adris De León on the buzzer allowed the Santiago team to go up 46-42 at halftime. After the break, those led by Melvyn López set the pace with a dominant start in the third quarter, extending the lead to double digits and practically defining the match. In the last period, the Metros continued their dominance, reaching a lead of up to 24 points, without allowing a reaction from the Titans. The Santiago team shot for a solid 60% from the field, including 41% from the three-point line, in addition to distributing 22 assists, a reflection of their collective play.

The action of the LNB Super League continues this Friday with the Gigantes del Cibao visiting the Cañeros del Este, while the Soles del Este will receive the Marineros de Puerto Plata.
