HIGÜEY, LA ALTAGRACIA.- The 50th edition of the Torneo Superior Altagraciano (TBS Higüey 2025) will begin this Wednesday, with its six traditional teams, with a double header, in which the Punta Cana Cup will be disputed, sponsored by the Puntacana Group.

The opening day will begin at 7:20 pm with the match between the clubs San José and Savica, then the opening ceremony will be held, and the closing will feature Antonio Guzmán and Centro, at the official venue of the TBS Higüey 2025, the Leo Tavárez sports center.
The information was provided by Jorge Tavárez, president of the Basketball Association of La Altagracia Province (ABAPA), who highlighted the dedication that fell on Monsignor Jesús Castro Marte, Bishop of the Diocese of Our Lady of La Altagracia.
Tavárez highlighted that in the Higüey competition, the clubs Savica, Centro, San José, San Francisco, Cambelén and Antonio Guzmán, who are the current champions, will compete.
The matches will be broadcast on TV Higüey and the official ABAPA YouTube channel.
The sports leader from Higüey indicated that the presidency of the Organizing Committee of the TBS Higüey 2025 is held by the businessman Ernesto Veloz, with the purpose of strengthening the event and promoting the support of the business sector of the entire province and its head municipality.
“We have half a century of sporting legacy in the province and are consolidating ourselves as the longest-running top tournament in the country,” said Tavárez, a deputy in the Congress of the Republic.
Veloz affirmed that “reaching 50 years is an honor that commits us to history. We invite the community and the business sector to support this tournament that is part of the identity of our province. This year we come with big surprises.”
Friday Games
The TBS Higüey 2025 Friday games will be at the Cambelén and San Francisco complexes, at 7:20 PM, and in the second game, at 9:00 PM, Antonio Guzmán and San José.
